Growing up in a military family which meant a fair amount of relocating, Renee spent her teens in Fredericksburg, VA until graduating and moving to Richmond to attend college. She received a BS in Special Education from Virginia Commonwealth University. She has worn many hats in her career pursuits to include teaching, being a Master Gardner for the state of Maryland, and becoming a Certified Virginia Nurseryman after transferring from MD to Virginia to run a garden center. She has been back in the Fredericksburg area for 20 years and tried her hand in the corporate arena in various management positions where she was recognized for her organizational ability to access and lead teams to help with location moves, downsizing, and inventory management. Much of this was accomplished at both the University of Mary Washington, and Rappahannock Goodwill. Her latest pursuit was in helping close a family owned business of 60 years to evaluate and disperse of 60 years of collected treasures.
Adding to those abilities she has also worked retail, where she did merchandising, owned her own floral business, designing for over 30 years, where she has used her eye for design, space and structure. She likes to admit that she has the ability to put 10 lbs. of potatoes into a 5 lb. sack. If you want to keep all 10 lbs. she can organize it in a way to accomplish that, or she can help whittle it down to just 5 lbs. With her careers in teaching, customer service and management she has the ability to communicate effectively, while training and coaching.
Her greatest passion was becoming a companion to her beloved therapy dog, a Great Dane named Lucy. She and her side kick would visit nursing homes, hospitals, libraries and Malls.
